Every Acosta AI purchase contributes 50% to permanent carbon removal through Stripe Climate and Frontier. When you donate, 100% goes to removal — the same 50% via Stripe Climate, and the Foundation directs the rest to a more select set of Frontier-vetted projects.

Our goal
We plan to remove 1,000,000 kg of carbon from the atmosphere by 2040.
That’s 1,000,000 kg of CO₂ — one thousand metric tons — funded through Acosta AI’s Stripe Climate commitment and 100% of Foundation donations. Estimates use Frontier’s portfolio weighted-average cost per ton; removal is delivered and verified over years, not overnight.

Permanent removal, not offsets
We fund technologies designed to store CO₂ for centuries or longer — vetted by Frontier's 60+ technical reviewers. These are not tree-planting offsets: they are engineered systems on a path to gigaton scale.
Direct air capture
Machines pull CO₂ directly from ambient air using chemical sorbents, then store it permanently underground. Highly measurable and scalable with clean energy.

How it works
Air passes over a solid sorbent that binds CO2. Heat releases the CO2 in concentrated form. The gas is then compressed and either stored underground or used to make durable products. Current costs are high but decline sharply with scale and clean electricity.

The challenge
Why early buyers matter
Reaching net zero by 2050 requires removing billions of tons of CO₂ already in the atmosphere — not just cutting future emissions. The IPCC projects that even under aggressive decarbonization scenarios, we need 10 billion tons of removal per year by mid-century.
Today the industry removes thousands of tons. The gap is bridged the same way solar, batteries, and genome sequencing scaled: early customers paying above-market prices to pull technology down the cost curve.
Frontier portfolio companies raised over $400M in equity last year. In 2025, companies in the portfolio began constructing projects capable of removing about 1.4 million tons of CO₂ annually — from near-zero a few years ago.
